Carna Health, an AI-enabled digital health company revolutionizing Cardio-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) care, today announced several strategic leadership appointments, including the addition of multidisciplinary healthcare and technology experts as strategic advisors. The appointments bring expertise across AI, business development, technology, and public health to support the company’s continued growth and global expansion, building on strategic partnerships with Siemens Healthineers and Renalytix as Carna Health advances toward U.S. market entry. The strategic advisors will also guide executive leadership as the company expands large-scale CKM prevention programs into new regions and works toward its goal of screening 100 million lives worldwide by 2030.

In addition to the advisors named below, Justin Nguyen has officially joined the company as Chief Product Officer, while Carna Health’s Jose Pereyra will join the Board of Directors.

Nguyen is a seasoned product executive and named U.S. patent holder with over a decade of experience driving innovation across digital health, population health, and enterprise technology. He has held senior product leadership roles at Lumeris, Atlas Health, Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO), Surescripts, and IBM, where he built AI-enabled care solutions, payer-provider interoperability platforms, and clinical decision-support tools used across the healthcare ecosystem. His cross-sector expertise in SaaS platforms and global healthcare solutions will support Carna Health’s efforts to expand access to CKM prevention and care at scale.

Pereyra brings a track record as a global venture investor and strategic advisor across digital health and tokenization, having backed and guided companies including Dama Health and ANDX. Bringing his deep experience across AI-driven diagnostics, next-generation digital asset platforms, and business development leadership, Pereyra will help accelerate Carna Health’s mission to transform CKM care and expand its global reach.

Appointed Strategic Advisors

Marcia Favale, EMBA, MSc, PGD

Favale has more than 30 years of experience in finance, investment, public policy, corporate governance, and international business development, including senior leadership roles at UBS and leading investment firms Brevan Howard and Advent Capital. She has advised governments, sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, and high-growth companies on capital raising, strategic partnerships, market expansion, and complex stakeholder engagement, while serving on corporate, financial, and public-sector boards worldwide. Favale is also an advisor to a biotechnology investment fund. A technology entrepreneur, inventor, author, and global business leader, she leverages her international network and expertise to support Carna Health’s growth strategy, investor engagement, and expansion into new markets. She is a graduate of New York University and the University of Oxford Saïd Business School (EMBA, MSc, PGD).

Dr. Ami Bhatt, MD, Chief Medical Officer at WHOOP

Bhatt is an internationally renowned cardiologist and the Chief Medical Officer at WHOOP. She is an expert in digital health and AI-enabled care delivery. Previously, she served as the inaugural Chair of the FDA’s Digital Health Advisory Committee and Chief Innovation Officer at the American College of Cardiology, where she led initiatives in digital health and AI-enabled care, including launching the AI-Enabled Clinician program and building partnerships with the FDA, CMMI, ARPA-H, and global health ministries to advance innovation in cardiovascular care. At Carna Health, Bhatt will advise on digital health innovation and population health in the cardiovascular domain.

Dr. David Goldfarb, Clinical Chief of Nephrology at NYU Langone Health

Goldfarb is a leading authority in kidney disease, bringing decades of clinical experience, research and leadership to the field. He is Professor of Medicine and Physiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Clinical Chief of Nephrology at NYU Langone Health, and Chief of Nephrology at the New York VA Medical Center. He also directs the Kidney Stone Prevention Program across both institutions and leads research as principal investigator of the Rare Kidney Stone Consortium’s cystinuria project.

Previously, he served as President of the New York Society of Nephrology and the ROCK Society, and as vice-chair of the American Urological Association’s guideline panel on kidney stone management, helping shape national standards of care. At Carna Health, Dr. Goldfarb will provide strategic input on kidney care in the United States and clinical standards as the company expands population-health prevention programs globally.

Dr. Prabir Roy-Chaudhury, MD, PhD, FASN

Roy-Chaudhury is the Drs. Ronald and Katherine Falk Eminent Professor and Co-Director of the University of North Carolina (UNC) Kidney Center, and a Staff Nephrologist at the Salisbury VA Medical Center. His research focuses on uremic vascular biology, including dialysis vascular access dysfunction and cardiovascular complications in kidney disease patients.

Previously, he served as Immediate Past President of the American Society of Nephrology, the world’s largest professional kidney organization, and as founding ASN co-chair of the Kidney Health Initiative, a public-private partnership with the FDA. At Carna Health, Roy-Chaudhury will advise on both U.S. and international population health screening and predictive analytics in the CKM space.

Tim Fitzpatrick, Founder, Signals Group

Fitzpatrick is a founder and trusted voice in kidney and cardiometabolic health. He founded Signals Group, a media and research platform whose flagship newsletter reaches more than 15,000 providers, policymakers, and industry leaders across 60 countries.

Previously, he served as CEO and Co-Founder of IKONA, a virtual reality education company focused on CKD and ESKD. At Carna Health, Fitzpatrick will advise on market intelligence and strategic growth opportunities across kidney and cardiometabolic care.

Kaye Vitug, Board Member, Lumina Foundation

Vitug has extensive experience in the finance and healthcare sectors, having overseen a multibillion-dollar profit and loss (P&L), supporting mergers and acquisitions, workforce transformation, and enterprise-scale change. She currently serves on the board and investment committee of the nation’s largest philanthropy dedicated to expanding postsecondary credential attainment, helping oversee a multibillion-dollar endowment.

Most recently, she served as the CFO of Roche Diagnostics North America and previously held global senior finance leadership roles with Roche. At Carna Health, Vitug will advise on the company’s business outlook, commercial partnerships and direction through a high-growth phase.

Paula LeClair, MBA, MHCDS

LeClair is an experienced healthcare executive with deep expertise in digital health commercialization, market access, and strategic partnerships. She has held senior leadership roles across innovative health technology organizations, helping scale solutions that improve clinical outcomes and expand access to care. LeClair has extensive experience working with health systems, payers, and industry partners to bring emerging healthcare technologies into real-world clinical use. She will advise Carna on commercialization strategy, partnerships, and the successful adoption of technology-enabled healthcare solutions.
