New capabilities deliver centralized visibility across enterprise SaaS and AI, combining complete AI agent lifecycle governance with real-time token spend tracking and risk controls.
NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / October 29, 2026 / BetterCloud, a CoreStack company, today released AI spend tracking and agent lifecycle management, extending its proven IT governance platform to the rapid rise of enterprise AI. The release gives IT and FinOps leaders centralized visibility into AI consumption, while giving security teams the power to create, audit, and offboard AI agents with the same automated workflows they rely on for employees.
As enterprise teams adopt generative AI, employees are spinning up autonomous agents, configuring API keys, and connecting sensitive business systems through MCP servers-often without central oversight or an offboarding plan when roles change. BetterCloud closes this gap by bringing visibility, spend control, and lifecycle management into a single platform.
Unified AI Spend and Token Tracking
BetterCloud now tracks AI consumption across providers in one view. It separates the vendor a company pays from the company that built the model, so a model bought through a cloud marketplace lists the cloud company as the vendor and the model’s developer as the model provider.
Each AI tool appears with its monthly cost and its owner. IT and finance teams can also open any employee’s record and see their total AI spend across every AI tool they use. From there they can move into BetterCloud’s spend module to handle renewals and reclaim unused licenses.
From Employee Lifecycle to Agent Lifecycle
For more than a decade, BetterCloud has automated the moments when a person’s access changes: a new hire, a role change, a departure. AI agents now hold the same kinds of access. They carry API keys, connect to business systems through MCP servers and act on company data, often with no named owner and no process to shut them down.
The October release applies BetterCloud’s lifecycle model to those agents. Workflows now include a library of AI governance actions for each AI provider BetterCloud covers.
What agent lifecycle management does
- Create, update and retire AI agents
- Authorize which tools each agent can use
- Grant and revoke user access to agents
- Manage AI data stores and AI projects
These actions run inside BetterCloud’s new AI-native workflow builder, which supports conditional paths, tagging and version history with rollback. Arriving this month, our new IT Agent for Workflows lets you trigger complex automations in plain English and automatically audit execution logs to spot errors before they spread.
One offboarding covers people and their agents
When an employee leaves, a single workflow can reassign their AI agents to their manager, then suspend their Google Workspace account, revoke Microsoft Entra ID sessions and remove AI tool access in parallel. Each run is logged to execution history.
Agents act through approved workflows
BetterCloud IT agents work out what a request needs, then hand execution to a deterministic workflow the IT team has already built and approved. The same input produces the same steps on every run, and each run lands in an audit trail.
Customers can use BetterCloud’s ready-made IT agents or build their own in IT Agent Studio. Each custom agent starts with zero access and gets only the tools, data and workflows its job requires. Human admins and AI agents share one role-based access model, defined down to the individual operation and the employees each operator can manage.
AI visibility and ownership
The release also gives IT one view of the AI running across the company, including:
- Discovery of API keys, MCP servers, coding agents, AI assistants and agents
- Agent ownership assigned from Google, Microsoft and Okta users and groups
- An org chart that shows employees and AI agents side by side
Coverage includes leading AI model platforms, AI assistants, coding tools, and identity and SaaS systems, with more providers added in the coming weeks.
Executive Perspective
“Our customers have spent years tightening who gets access to what, and who loses it when they leave,” said Raj Kunnath, President of BetterCloud. “Agents get set up by individual employees, hold API keys and keep running after those employees move on. This release gives enterprise IT the same controls over agents and AI spend that they already have over people and SaaS.”
Availability
Agent lifecycle management and the rest of the October release are available today to BetterCloud customers. Managed service providers can deploy and run it across customer tenants from the BetterCloud partner console. BetterCloud plans to extend AI discovery to SaaS apps that ship their own agents.
